HONG KONG, JULY 17: The latest episode of the Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars is yet to open in China, possibly because of tense Sino-US relations following the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, a Hong Kong newspaper reported today.
The Oriental daily said Yu Siu-chi, a promotion executive from the film release company 20th Century Fox, ``confirmed The Phantom Menace had been banned and that it might be due to the embassy bombing.''
The report could not be independently confirmed today.
The long-awaited episode of the Star Wars saga was originally scheduled to be released in Chinese cities this month, but Beijing had postponed the release date indefinitely, the newspaper reported.
