Woman ends life in city
Rama Kumar Rajaiyya (25), a married woman residing at Vijaynagar slum in Katargam area of the city, committed suicide by burning herself during the early hours of Monday. Family members rushed Rama to the Maskati Hospital around 4 a.m. with severe burn injuries, the Katargam police said, adding that she died at noon.

Woman missing
A newly-married woman, Shobhna Suresh Maisuriya (18), is reported missing since Sunday afternoon. Husband Suresh Guman Maisuriya, a resident of Ajanta Row Houses, Pal Jakat Naka, told the Ichhapore police on Monday that his wife left the house without informing anyone on Sunday afternoon. Last seen, the woman was wearing a maroon sari. The Ichhapore police are investigating further. 16-year old Nitin Madhukar Shevale is also missing since July 29, parents told the Udhna police today morning. Madhukar Totaram Shevale of Ashoknagar slum in Udhna told the police that Nitin left the house without informing anyone. He was wearing a blue shirt when last seen and has a scar on his forehead, he informed the police.

Godown theft
Unidentified persons forced their way into a cloth godown in Sachin and decamped with polyester cloth worth Rs 1.92 lakhs, a case registered in the Sachin police today afternoon said. Harsan Virji Gondaliya told the police that his godown at plot no 6307 in Sachin GIDC was broken into during the early hours of Monday and 107 cartons of cloth were stolen.

Knocked down
An unidentified youth was fatally knocked down by two unidentified motorcyclists on the road opposite Mora telephone exchange on the city's outskirts. The Ichhapore police said that the man died on the spot in the mishap which took place at 2 am on Monday. No arrests have been made and the police have not been able to identify the dead person either.
