The best vacation I had was when I joined my father's ship `M.V. Varanasi' at Paradip and we sailed out at midnight for Singapore.I was quite excited, and although I had sailed previously on other ships I was quite keen to see the ship leave the port.
I also had a few other kids for company, who had also come on a vacation. We were heading for Japan, which we reached after ten hours of sailing and our ship berthed at a port called Muroran. It was snowing and the temperature was minus 7 degrees. I loved watching the snow fall and loved the cold even though I had to wear heavy clothes.
The next day we went to Nagoya, and I saw the biggest aquarium with different types of sharks, turtles, penguins, hermit crabs, lobsters and many other fishes. We then proceeded to the Hiroshima anchorage by boat and I was lucky to see the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. The remains of the bombings as it was on August 6, 1945, have been carefully preserved as a reminder.
It was indeed pitiable to see the children's school bags, people arms and debris, as also a model of the bomb. I also saw the cathedral that was bombed and clicked some photographs. I also visited the Hiroshima castle which displayed different weapons, swords, armour, Japanese utensils, coins and the style of some of their houses.
Finally I had to leave Tokyo and fly back to India as I had to join my school in time. Thus ended my trip with beautiful memories. Sayonara.

The best vacation I had was a two month vacation in 1997. This was my first vacation in Jammu and Kashmir which is also called dharti ka swarg (heaven on earth). Our Pune to Jammu trip was also very nice. I was very delighted to see the green valleys and snow covered mountains. We also visited Goddess Durga's temple Vaishnu devi. After reaching there, I felt very happy. It was a very joyful experience indeed. I also did my home-work and when we returned home after two months, I was sure that I would not be able to forget this vacation for a long time. It was indeed a most glorious vacation, I ever had.

I like to travel al lot because travelling enlivens my dampened spirits and gives relief from monotonous routines. Therefore, me and my family go for a vacation every year. So far, the most memorable vacation I had was when we went to Delhi a few years back.
After a very comfortable journey, we did a spot of local sight-seeing, and the very next day, went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. I was very happy to see one of the seven wonders of the world at such a young age. Its beauty far surpassed all my expectations and I clicked a few snapshots as well, which I treasure to this day.
When we came back to Delhi, we proceeded to Haridwar and Rishikesh by car. I saw some awe inspiring mountains and the sacred Ganges. I saw the famous Laxman jhula and stood wonder struck.
The trip which lasted for a week was unforgettable. I travelled so much in so short a time and yet did not feel tired. It was probably because of the sumptuous food that I ate throughout the trip. Though I did not go shopping, like my previous vacations, I still consider this vacation as the best I ever had.
