Oldest church
BEIJING: Chinese archaeologists excavating the remains of a city along the ancient silk road in inner Mongolia have discovered what is believed to be the oldest Roman Catholic church in Asia.
Apparently, the church was 70 years ago but the team which discovered it were reluctant to announce the find before collecting enough evidence to support their claim. The 700-year-old church site is located in Abinsm some 190 km north of the city of Baotou.
Online kidney sale
SAN FRANCISCO: Online shoppers bid more than 5.7 million dollars for a human kidney offered on the Internet auction site Ebay before the company intervened to block the illegal sale, officials said on Thursday. "Ebay has zero tolerance for illegal items on the site," said Steve Westly, Ebay's vice-president of marketing. The item, advertised as a "fully functional kidney", was put up for sale last week and had pulled a top bid of 5,750,100 dollars before the online auction house pulled the plug.

NEW YORK: President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton signed a $ 1.7 million contract on Thursday to buy a house in New York that will give Hillary residency in the State for a possible Senate race, the White House said. The five-bedroom Georgian colonial style home, painted white, is located in Chappaqua, in the leafy Westchester county suburbs of New York city.
