PUNE, Sept 3: Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council and State president of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chhagan Bhujbal on Thursday said that his party would frame charges against those persons who had been found guilty in Srikrishna Commission report if voted to power.
Addressing an election rally for NCP candidate Krishnarao Bhegde, Bhujbal expressed confidence that the saffron alliance would not benefit from the split in Congress since Sonia Congress had been totally marginalised. He also predicted that MLAs from the Congress led by Sonia would join NCP after the Assembly polls.
Bhujbal alleged criticised that Sonia Gandhi's ambition to become prime minister had imposed elections on the country and added that the elections could have been averted had Sonia proposed the name of Sharad Pawar as prime minister after the fall of the Vajpayee government. He said Sonia Gandhi was not aware of any problems of the country and was yet aspiring to become the prime minister.
Describing Chief Minister Narayan Rane as `Narya Dada', Bhujbal said Rane, who was framed in a murder case, had no right to run the government. He said Congress leaders were making baseless allegations against Pawar out of fear.
Bhujbal attacked the alliance government saying that the chief minister and six other ministers had to step down because of corruption charges. He said Bal Thackeray had no moral right to demand votes since he himself had lost his right of voting.
