2 killed in encounter at Charni Road

MUMBAI, SEPT 8: Two shooters of the Chhota Rajan gang were killed in a police encounter at Charni Road late Tuesday night. According to police records, Prakash Ramprasad (23) alias Pakya and Sultan Anari (24) alias Pukan were involved in the murder of Leo Carlos at Andheri (east) early this year as well as the attempt on the life of former Additional Collector of Customs Som Nath Thapa on August 18 last month.

On a tip-off, a special squad attached to unit-II of the Crime Branch laid a trap for the shooters near Saka Patil Udyan, which falls under the jurisdiction of L T Marg police station. The duo were shot at allegedly because they fired on the police when asked to surrender.
