British Asian Talvin Singh bags UK music prize
Talvin Singh has become the first British Asian to win the 1999 Technics Mercury Music Prize, with his debut solo album OK.

When he was eight, Sennen Duorado was presented a half-crown. The size of the coin, the way the light played over its engravings and the manner in which it sat in his palm inflamed him with a passion for collecting coins that has lasted him his 48 yrs.
