Switch off Hughes network, DoT orders MTNL
A three-way tussle among Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) and the basic telephone operator, Hughes Ispat Ltd (HIL) is threatening the existence of the recently launched network of HIL.

FIPB clears P&O plan to invest $ 30 mn
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has allowed P&O of Australia to bring in additional foreign investment of $ 30 million (about Rs 130 crore) for its proposed container terminal at Nhava Sheva Port in Mumbai.

NTPC, Bhel to settle Talcher issue
National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is learnt to have started negotiations with public sector Bhel on the price for the Rs 1,400-crore tender for supply of boilers for NTPC's Talcher expansion project.
