PUNE, Sept 29: Devangi Patankar of Pune registered her sixth successive win and closed in for the girls under-7 title defeating citymate Chaitra Wable in the sixth and penultimate round, of the 10th State Mini chess championship at Mangal Manohar Karyalaya here today.

Meanwhile, the race for the top honours in the boys under-9 section hots up as experienced Subodh Lakhe and Ninad Sancheti share the leaderboard with seven points from eight rounds.
