Nothing serious in Bhatia proposals -- CM

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

PUNE, Oct 3: Chief Minister Narayan Rane on Saturday said ``there was nothing in Bhatia's proposals that could be taken seriously.''

When mediapersons sought the CM's view on former municipal commissioner Arun Bhatia's latest salvo, demanding the dissolution of the city civic body, Rane shot back saying ``What has he (Bhatia) sent?''

When it was pointed out that Bhatia had made a ``representation'' to the State Government, the Chief Minister replied in the negative. ``Nothing has come to me.'' Rane said there was hardly anything worth accepting in the proposals from Bhatia.

Incidentally, Rane was flanked by two former Pune municipal commissioners Arun Bongirwar, now the State chief secretary, and Ajit Warty, presently principal secretary.

On possible action against Bhatia for not taking up his new posting in the State Archives, the Chief Minister said he would prefer to talk about the action after it had been taken. ``We are men of actions,'' Rane quipped.
