Hutatma Rajguru win
Hutatma Rajguru Vidhyalay, representing Pune beat Nashik 3-0, to claim the girls under-19 State football championship at Gadinglaj, Kolhapur.
Mangal Nikam, Shilpa Methar and Shubhangi Lambade scored for Hutatma -- whose squad belongs to a training programme developed for slum children by the United Poona Sports Academy.
Panse-Sahasra winning combo
Vaishali Panse and Manjusha Sahasra won the over-30 Old Monk-sponsored State level veterans badminton championship women's doubles final with a 15-1, 15-1 win over Smita Khadilkar and Aditi Adkar 15-1, 15-1 at the WIE Sports Complex. Madhavi Joshi, teaming with Alka Chitale beat Pashmina Desai and Jayashree Bedarkar 15-13, 15-11 to clinch the over-35 title.
