Cabinet paves way for derivatives trading
The Union cabinet has approved the much-awaited bill to allow derivatives trading on the stock exchanges.

TISCO profits drop 6.37% in first half
Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), India's biggest private sector steel maker, on Thursday announced a 6.37% drop in net profit to Rs 90.18 crore in the first half of 1999-2000 from Rs 96.32 crore in the same period of last year.

Insurance staff plans strike
Insurance unions reacted in an expected manner by threatening to strike work in response to the Cabinet clearing the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) Bill, paving way for the tabling up of the Insurance Bill in the Parliament.
