Ends life
A woman committed suicide and set her five-year-old son ablaze allegedly unable to bear her husband's suspicious nature. According to police, Jasodaben set self and child ablaze after pouring kerosene on Friday. She was admitted to the V S Hospital where she died on Saturday night. The boy was undergoing treatment at the hospital. Husband of Jasodaben Gautam works as a peon at Nutan High school.

Four arrested
City Crime Branch has arrested Deepak Damodar More and three persons playing games on poker machine at Khodiyar Nagar in Hatkeshwar. Crime Branch police inspector P N Barot and his team raided the premises, arrested the four and seized Rs 62,168. They have registered a case of gambling and are investigating.

Dies of burns
One Laxshmiben Fakir Jadav, a resident of Rustamali Na Dhal, was killed when she fell on the stove. She was admitted to the V S Hospital on October 24, where she breathed her last on Saturday. Shahpur police have registered a case of accidental death.

Two burglaries
Two incidents of house breaks were reported in the city on Saturday. In the first incident Shardaben Gajanand Raval has lodged a complaint that some unidentified person entered her house and walked away with 40 sarees worth Rs 20,000. In another incident on the same day, Dashrath Jayramji Chauhan has, in a complaint at Shahpur police, claimed that some unidentified person entered his house through the terrace and walked away with ornaments and clothes worth Rs 22,000.

Accident death
Ramlal Velji Kavasia (35) was killed while his friend Manoj Kumar was injured when the cycle on which they were travelling was hit by Matador (GJ-7X-6483). According to Sola High Court police, the two were passing over the Sola bridge when they met with the accident. Ramlal died on the spot while Manoj was admitted to the hospital.
