Markets take U-turn, Sensex rallies by 221 pts
The bear run which sent the Sensex crashing by 890 points in the last three weeks was finally arrested on Tuesday.

Software export earnings increase 58 pc in first half
While India's total exports recorded only a 7.39% growth in the first six months of 1999-2000, earnings from software exports have shown a 58% rise at Rs 8,060 crore ($ 1.87 billion) during the first half of the current fiscal as compared to Rs 5,090 crore last year.

Govt reduces steel floor price
The government has cut the minimum import price on hot rolled coils from $ 302 by $ 52 per tonne to $ 254 in line with a fall in international prices, a government statement said on Tuesday.
