BJP takes a leaf out of NCP book
Nationalist Congress Party, major partner of Congress-led Democratic Front (DF) Government is facing a piquant situation following the BJP's decision to move a non-official resolution to provide for a complete ban on election or nomination of foreigners on constitutional posts.

Peace committees to be revived in city
The Democratic Front Government in the State has decided to revive the police peace committee scrapped by the erstwhile Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party Government, which had replaced it with the Mohalla Ekta Committee.

Thackeray sacks 9 office-bearers
Shiv Sena chief, Bal Thackeray on Saturday expelled nine office-bearers, including five district chiefs, for `anti-party activities' during the simultaneous general and Assembly elections in the State.
