On the terrace under the skies

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

The new year's eve will be a quiet evening of contemplation for danseuse Sucheta Chapekar. ``As on every new year's eve I will sit on the terrace under the skies, with my husband and think about the past year.

Her children though have other plans. ``They like to party away the night with their friends as I did when I was younger.'' The millennium midnight holds no special significance for her. ``People love to celebrate and are always looking for reasons to do so. For me the turn of the century is only a technical detail. It will be like any other day because I believe that time is a continuum.'' she says.

Chapekar does have a mission this year, ``I would particularly like to make a resolution of embarking on a book on classical dance.''
