Chandigarh, NOV 15: The Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 10, Chandigarh celebrated the Children's Day and also organised the prize distribution function today. District Education Officer Brahmjit Kalia was the chief guest on the occasion.
The audience were enthralled by the nursery rhymes, Bhangra and other dances performed as part of the cultural function. An exhibition was put up by the students on the occasion. Cash prizes were also awarded to students who secured good positions in the CBSE examination.
Ballika Gupta, who stood first in UT in the medical stream, was awarded Rs 3,100 and William Lee, of Hotel Management, who stood third in UT, received Rs 1,100. Shaleen Chauhan was awarded Rs 500 for receiving National Children's Award in gymnastics and shooting last year. Silver medals were given to students securing top three positions in their respective classes.
