CHANDIGARH, Nov 21: A two-day Winter Carnival for children concluded at Bal Bhavan here today. More than 150 children, drawn from all the schools of the city, participated in the event organised by Sparsh, a local welfare organisation affiliated to the National Handicapped Welfare Council.UT District Education Officer Brahmjit Kalia was the chief guest and distributed certificates and prizes at the concluding ceremony this afternoon. Dabur India donated prizes and the Sparsh activists Rajinder Dutt and Mohit Sharma conducted the programme.
The children vied for honours in dancing, drawing, rangoli-making and fancy dress. A fashion parade rounded up the festivities.
The winners are -- Fancy dress: Harmanjit Singh Mani
Rangoli: Reena, Divya
Dance competitions: 5 to 7 age group -- Divya, Kritika; 8 to 10 age group -- Nancy Bhalla, Harpreet Kaur; 11 to 12 age group -- Zinia, Rajni; 13 to 15 age group -- Preeti, Sudipti.
Drawing: Under 4 -- Aarzoo Ahuja; 8 to 12 age group -- Anshul Sharma, Navjot Kaur; 13 to 17 age group -- Bharat Sidhwani, Ravi Hans.
