KADAMBARI MURALI
Lucknow, December 2: Japan's Takahiro Terachi took out second seed Oleg Ogorodov but Satoshi Iwabuchi had just no answer to Leander Paes in the BPL Challenger tennis tournament today.
Paes played at a different level even compared to his evidently improving singles form in the previous matches. Except for a couple of games in the beginning, Iwabuchi never looked like he would trouble Paes.
That was in the second set, when he broke Iwabuchi for 3-2 and the left-hander broke back and held. Paes held, then quickly broke again to go 5-3 up and closed out the match.
Paes expects Terachi to try and keep him pinned to the baseline, and was therefore happy with his own baseline game today. ``I was happy with my baseline game as Terachi will also try and keep me back,'' Paes said.
``I've seen him play and he's definitely not a natural grasscourt player, but the way this court is playing, it's not a natural grasscourt, so it could be to his advantage.''
