I wish to comment about the recent action taken on the cabbies of Mumbai by the civic authorities.They are not the only defaulters adding to the "pollution menace" the city of Mumbai is facing but it is also due to "illegal electroplating workshops" cropped up in the various suburbs of Mumbai which go scot free due to "underhand "delaing with their respective ward officers and the other related civic authorities. These workshops emit airborne as well as waterborne effluents which are left untreated into the drains and into the air adding to the uprising of the "menace". Waterborne chemicals such as toxic wastes ,acids, etc. and airborne such as acid fumes, suspended particles, etc. pose a serious threat to the flora, fauna, as well as human beings as well as marine lifeforms.Such establishments "camoflauged" between residential slums to avoid proscecution pose a much serious hazard to the residents in their vicinity.

I also lucidly recall reading on one of the dailies that the civic authorities are "clueless" as to why this "pollution menace" is on the uprising and hence Iam pleased to give you this bit of information for your research team/s who maybe reearching on this topic to give the authorities a befitting reply.
