MARCH 25: Test opener Wasim Jaffar, with a brilliant unbeaten 130, and his 238-run unfinished partnership with Mayur Kadrekar (108), gave Indian Oil Corporation an easy victory and the title in the 18th All-India Public Sector Millennium Cup Cricket Tournament at the MIG Club ground, Bandra, on Saturday.

ONGC put up a total of 252 with the help of Virendra Sehwag who blasted his third ton of the tourney, a blazing 109 off just 71 balls (10 fours and three sixes) on a strip that was a batsman's paradise.

Indian Oil were in trouble initially when they lost left-hander Abbas Ali and skipper Jayprakash Jadhav, both claimed by the burly new ball bowler Feroze Ghayas. But they recovered from 15 for two as the partnership between Jaffar and Kadrekar blossomed to take away the match from ONGC.
