Trade deficit widens 26 pc in first quarter
India's trade deficit increased by almost 26 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal at US $ 2,982.75 million despite a 27.65 per cent rise -- lower than the previous month -- in exports during the period at $ 10,194.34 million.




Rupee fall continues unabated
Currency closed at an all time low of 45.15/16, declining by another 15 paise against the US dollar on sustained dollar demand from corporates and foreign funds in an extremely volatile interbank foreign exchange (forex) market on Tuesday.
