Lawyer gets a mouthful from Jaya
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

October 9: Soon after her conviction Jaya was at her sarcastic best with one of the defence lawyers whose line of defence for his client -- former TANSI CMD S Nagarajan -- effectively sealed the escaped route for Jaya and the others.

``Congratulations. You have done your job well. You have done what you have been assigned to. I am proud of you,'' said Jayalalitha bitterly.

Nagarajan's lawyer took the stand that TANSI land and buildings were Government property and that it was the Government which took the decision to sell the property and Srinivasan had no role to play in this transaction. Whereas the argument of the counsel for the other accused including Jaya was that TANSI was not a Government property.
