In black and white
Opening up the print media to foreign investment, an issue that has been hanging fire for far too long, is back on the Centre's agenda. That is the impression given by Sushma Swaraj, minister for Information and Broadcasting.




Courage under fire
They are variously described as mavericks, oddballs, trouble makers and obstructionists. They insist on blowing the whistle every time they find people around them -- often their superiors -- with their hands in the public till.




The confluence of cultures
Pronouncements made at the recent RSS conclave in Agra have triggered off memories of a TV series I produced ten years ago. Every episode in the series on Indian culture began with a couplet by Mir Taqi Mir and ended with one by Raghupati Sahai Firaq Gorakhpuri.
