Star
Power: The Week Ahead
________________PETER VIDAL
ARIES
(21 March - 20 April)
You may be a tower of strength, but every so often you have to look after
yourself. There is too much to achieve at the moment to waste your time
bailing out people who have made a mess of things, and who should have
known better. By the weekend, you’ll have a whole new purpose to life.
TAURUS
(21 April - 21 May)
Developments on the work front are likely to call for some quick thinking
over the next few days. The fact that you may have to take decisions on
the spot doesn’t mean that they should be hasty or ill considered. Some
of your financial worries could well be sorted out by Thursday.
GEMINI
(22 May - 21 June)
You may begin to reconsider a professional commitment, although all indications
are that it is a partner, and not you, who is primarily affected. As far
as you are concerned, legal or financial questions should be paramount.
You’ll also answer an age-old romantic question.
CANCER
(22 June - 23 July)
The way to resolve a personal problem is to be firm and supportive of
others, and at the same time also to recognise that the way things were
done in the past is not necessarily how they should be done in the future.
Your financial situation should improve by Wednesday, all things being
equal!
LEO
(24 July - 23 August)
There’s a new, slightly extravagant note in your chart, reflecting the
fact that certain expenses have been incurred and now need to be settled.
You may still wish to rely on someone else rather than dealing with your
own affairs. You may expect delays at work, by the way. The trick would
be to turn them to your advantage.
VIRGO
(24 August - 23 September)
Something will make you sit up and take notice of other people, but if,
having checked out what they are saying, you decide to ignore it, that
is your choice. Your main priority must be to pursue one particular goal
to the bitter end, without distraction. You’ll earn fresh respect from
loved ones.
LIBRA
(24 September - 23 October)
A decidedly disruptive relationship between Venus and Pluto could be very
useful. By creating emotional confusion it could open you up to fresh
possibilities, perhaps with very welcome consequences. An educational
opening should be seized without delay, if you know what’s good for you,
that is!
SCORPIO
(24 October - 22 November)
It is only fair to warn you that other people will be almost wilfully
misunderstanding you. The fact that the Moon is so very sensitive should
save you from any resulting complications, but you should nevertheless
make a point of explaining yourself as best as you can.
SAGITTARIUS
(23 November - 22 December)
CURIOSITY is still a vital motive and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask silly
questions for fear of being thought stupid. You may feel slightly disturbed
or uncertain early this morning, but it’s only your unconscious struggling
to digest recent experiences.
CAPRICORN
(23 December - 20 January)
Home and family affairs offer a welcome break from stressful things such
as deciding what to spend your money on. Actually, your stars have seldom
looked better for a well-deserved increase in your earnings. In love matters,
your partner will finally agree that you are right.
AQUARIUS
(21 Janury - 19 February)
If others had been more open you would gladly have apologised, but in
your opinion you have little to be sorry about. You may be right, you
may be wrong, but in the final analysis, all that matters is that you
achieve your ends and do the best for a loved one. Wednesday is your key
day for success at work.
PISCES
(20 February - 20 March)
Your lunar patterns are very welcome and put you in a very strong position.
You may put your worries to one side. Don’t feel guilty and realise that
if you don’t help yourself, nobody else will! Just take a look at the
way your week unfolds — Monday is busy, Tuesday is best for romance, Wednesday
highlights cash and Thursday favours adventure.
IF
IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY
Sunday,
October 22
There are certain important guidelines for the coming
year. You’ll accomplish more by being friendly than by doing it alone,
or by resenting the world for being mean to you. If there are rewards
to be handed out, you must be sure to get your fair share.
Monday,
October 23
Neptune is the key planet of the moment, so visionaries, artists and mystics
should enjoy their massively enhanced imagination. All of you should watch
out for hidden pitfalls, banana skins and utterly unforeseen errors. Why
not leave important matters to the experts?
Tuesday,
October 24
Indecision is inevitable, even desirable. You’re still dwelling on financial
questions. Do you have enough money? If so how should you spend it? Are
long-term investments more favourable than short-term spending? One thing
is certain: there are no easy answers — only imaginative and colourful
ones.
Wednesday,
October 25
Your intense, emotional nature is softened by a practical dose of careful
common sense. Yet if you have a weakness, it’s that you’ll be swept away
by feelings beyond your control. But your strength, both now and over
the next year, lies in your creative, artistic, generous and soulful imagination.
Thursday,
October 26
You may have one or two secret worries, but mainly because you’ll feel
that you can’t control the outcome of certain personal proposals. You
may seek whatever reassurance you need and secure assistance from the
experts. Make sure that you strike a reasonable balance between things
you have to do and those you want to do.
Friday,
October 27
You have been blessed by a New Moon in your sign in what we astrologers
call your ‘solar return chart’. This is about the most certain indication
you can have that you’ll be giving up some bad habits, shuffling your
relationships, changing your job and generally making a fresh start over
the next twelve months.
Saturday,
October 28
Every relationship almost always comes with a price tag. It’s going to
be an enjoyable rather than a profitable moment, with plenty of interest
in your affairs from people close to you. One word of advice is to continue
to take extreme care in all monetary matters, at least until next week.
Concentrate on your favourite friendships over the next year, especially
ones you’ve ignored for too long!

SCORPIO
THE MONTH AHEAD
In
many ways, Scorpio is an amazing sign, difficult to pin down and always
heading for the nearest exit sign as soon as the word commitment is
mentioned. Yet, one way or the other, youre going to have to face
up to a responsibility, perhaps one you incurred a long time ago. Of
course, one option will be to make a complete break and this might well
be for the best, just as long as youre sure about it. Yet, if
you decide that things must carry on as before, you must pull your weight
in future. Some Scorpios are so weighed down by responsibilities that
they have little time for anything else! This could be excellent news
because you will be tackling matters which are absolutely essential
to your well-being. An intriguing alignment from Venus to Uranus in
mid-December will act like a mild irritant on your relationships, stirring
up intense feelings. The full moon on December 11 favours marriage and
relationships, so you can afford to be optimistic. Looking ahead, 2001
could be a year of amazing opportunities.
