Your edit, `Ganguly googly' (IE, December 15), was a bit tough on the Indian skipper. You justified match referee Barry Jarman's decision to slap a one-match ban on the Indian skipper. No doubt, Ganguly got carried away with his five-wicket haul and did a lot jumping, shouting and stomping.

Come New Year and it's time for all and sundry companies to send out greeting cards associated with a variety of laudable causes, social or environmental. It's an annual ritual which seems to leave them free for the rest of the year to engage in a single-minded pursuit of profits.
