When the NDA govt announced its decision to set up a commission to review the working of the Constitution, I had a lot of apprehensions about the idea. Since the founding fathers of the Constitution had themselves devised a simple way to amend the Constitution, I thought there was no need for a review.




To hell with the middle class
Now that the prime minister's economic advisory council has pronounced in its favour, it's almost certain Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha will cut interest rates on provident funds and other small savings by another 1% or so -- he cut it by 1% last year as well.
