Kolkata, January 10: The West Bengal government on Thursday expressed happiness over Tata Motors unveiling its much-awaited people’s car ‘Nano’, and said the Singur project, where it would be manufactured, will be completed in time.

Stating that the people’s curiosity about the small car was satisfied with the unveiling of the car, state Industry Minister Nirupam Sen said that work (on the project) was progressing according to schedule and would be completed in time.

“We are happy. West Bengal will benefit from the Tata’s Singur project,” he told reporters.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee when asked about the car, did not comment.
