With this, the BSP has now declared candidates for all ten Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. The announcement of Vaid’s name was made at the BSP ‘Bhaicahara Banao’ rally in Jind today by Maan Singh Manhera, BSP Coordinator Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Earlier, the BSP had already declared names of nine other candidates. Incidentally all the BSP candidates in Haryana are non-Jats as announced by party Supremo Mayawati earlier.
Manhera said the party was confident of victory as people from all the communities had joined BSP. He accused the Congress of dividing people on caste-basis for political gain. “We will not have alliance with any political party in the state,” he added.
“Today’s rally has proved that Balmikis and all other SC communities are with us,” said Manhera. Arjun Singh, Ravi Chaudhry, Krishna Dhami, Rajesh Vaid and other senior leaders of the party were present on the occasion.
Chautala to decide INLD candidates
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) passed a resolution on Sunday, authorising former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala to decide the names of the party’s candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, said Ashok Arora, party president, while talking to The Indian Express from Panipat. The INLD and BJP, who recently joined hands, are likely to declare the names of their respective candidates on Monday after the BJP’s national executive committee meeting in New Delhi, sources said. The alliance partners are likely to agree on contesting five seats each. ENS
