Police said the victim’s brothers were undergoing treatment in the emergency ward and she was resting outside the hospital with her parents
According to police, the accused, Padam (30), was inebriated and spotted the victim sleeping on the pavement. He headed towards her and started molesting her.
“She woke up and started crying. Her father woke up and raised an alarm. Bystanders thrashed the accused and handed him over,” a police officer said.
Police said Padam has been booked under Section 354 IPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
Police said victim’s father Ghulam Ali hails from Moradabad and had come for treating his two sons—aged 2 and 4, who are mentally retarded.
