New Delhi, February 17 The 11th edition of International Exhibition of Security, Safety, Fire, Disaster Management Equipment and Services was inaugurated at the Pragati Maidan today.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who inaugurated the expo, underlined the role of security coverage required for individual, organisations, country and environment. Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta was the guest of honour.

“The cooperation of individuals and private securities agencies is required to augment the government’s efforts of surveillance and protection in view of the heightened threat perception,” Patil said.

“The race is against terrorism and disaster, man-made or natural, and constant research and upgradation of technology is the need of the hour to contain disruptive forces,” he said.
