"We have apprehended two cargo ships in a joint operation near the Gujarat coast while they were sailing to Karachi. They are suspected to be the ships that ferried the terrorists near to Mumbai coast yesterday," Home Ministry sources said.
The three sea-guarding forces were put on a high alert after intelligence agencies gave inputs about a merchant vessel, suspected to be involved in the terror attacks on Mumbai since Wednesday, trying to move towards Karachi in Pakistan.
The forces were, in fact, conducting their routine joint exercises in the general area of the Gujarat coast when they received the intelligence inputs and they immediately diverted their assets for searching the run-away merchant vessel.
"In the evening, Indian ships sighted two ships including the one about which intelligence agencies had given a tip-off," Home Ministry sources said.
The Indian ships apprehended both the cargo ships, which were identified as MV Alpha and MV Al Kabir. Officers of the three forces were ascertaining the credentials of the crew on board the two ships, sources added.

also the ships were captured in the indian territorial waters. All indian laws are applicable if in fact they ferried the terrorists.
since the pirates took over the thai vessel, it is not longer flying under the thai flag and hence as a pirate ship the right action was taken. Unfortunate that innocent lives were lost.
If you have read the news properly you will realise that the maritime agency fail to inform the patrolling ships and the INS retaliated not initiated. Get your facts right.

It is but natural that we all react so strongly and emotionally during such a situation, but it is all the more important that we engage in some calm introspection to understand this cycle of violence. The first thing that we 'Indians' should do is some soul searching before we take any further steps to prevent this violence. I think it should start with each and every Indian treating his fellow Indians with respect and seek to understand the others. We are so divided, on the basis of language, religion, caste, sect, creed, class, region etc. that I am surprised that there is not more bloodshed (not that I in any way want that to happen). We need to develop a shared civic sense, before we can start acting in a thoughtful manner to address this violence. So my humble request to all the people is to do some introspection and not just 'reacting' to such attacks.

Rakesh, I disagree with your suggested solution to have Narendra Modi as the future leader. I think you completely forget that it is because of such leaders, who preach hatred, encourage and incite violence, that we are in a cycle of violence. Going by Modi's logic of action-reaction, there will be no end to violence. If in fact Modi is such a great leader, how come he wasn't able to prevent the bomb blasts that happened in Gujarat recently? In fact, no political party or individual can prevent such attacks completely. So we need to get down to address the root causes of this violence rather than placing our faith in a party or an individual.
Dear all, I think dirty policitics must be held resposible for cont. attacks because of their vote banks, they are scared of taking actions, look at the country like U.S they know well how to teach lesson to these organisations and resp. countries. When will we grow up? It is stupid to keep "condemning" the "dastardly and cowardly" terrorist attacks supported from "across the border". Pakistan will learn to keep away from India only if India extracts a terrible price. This means we have to arm and financially support terror groups in Balochistan which are fighting for independence, Shia groups who are fighting Sunni terror even Pakistani terror groups who are fighting Islamabad (as the chief patron of terror against India remains the ISI). 1. In peacetime it is coast guard's responsibilty to guard and not the Navy's. Same way it is police's responsibilty to guard the cities and not the Army. 2 It is a policy failure to eradicate terrorism.
when everything is over the coast guard wok up and started working!! how come 10 terrorists can come to the coast from a ship located in the sea with out the notice of the coast guard? they are that dump?
