The duo, both in their early 30s, have been identified as Head Constable Jaswant Singh of Kotla Heran village and Constable Ram Twinkle of UP. They were on duty near Chuggitti Chowk. The accident took place when they were going towards the flyover.
The truck, that was coming from the opposite side fell on them, crushing them to death. The truck driver tried to flee after which the truck fell down the bridge and hit the wall of a workshop. The driver, Jagtar Singh, ran away in the meantime. It was learnt that he was under the influence of liquor.
