A hit-and-run accident claimed the life of Rajnikanth Sakale (40), a resident of Dhankawadi, on Wednesday night when an unidentified motorcyclist speeding down the Pune-Nashik Road crashed into him as he was standing on the side of the road. A complaint was registered in the Bhosari police station, but no arrest has been made yet.
In another mishap, a pillion rider called Bhasik Yogeshbhai Kunjani (24), a resident of Thakkar hostel on Dhole Patil Road, succumbed to a head injury caused after the motorcycle he was travelling on crashed into a nearby building in the wee hours of Thursday.
The rider, Pareshkumar Bupanbhai Wagare (25), a resident of the same hostel, was riding from the RTO in the direction of Ruby Hall Hospital when the accident occurred. He has been arrested for rash and negligentdriving.
