“On December 21 last year, two persons entered the office of Ekta Developers in Kandivli and opened fire inside the office before fleeing. One round was fired and a sales executive , Ashok Mankar was hit just below his left shoulder and was rushed to hospital,” said Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Rakesh Maria.
The police recovered a 0.315 mm handgun with two live cartridges from Bahadur, which is the weapon used in the commission of the crime.
“They are both Ravi Pujari aides, and were promised a sum of Rs 2 to 3 lakhs to carry out the firing. However, they only received Rs 500 each. Pujari has been threatening the concerned developer for extortion unsuccessfully for the past three years, and police protection has been given to the developer and his family. Unable to get to him, Pujari ordered the firing at the office,” said Maria.
