2 snatchings reported in last 24 hours

Ludhiana, February 22 Two cases of snatching were reported from the city in the last 24 hours.

On Thursday night, one Rajinder Kumar alias Vicky claimed that some people in a car snatched a gold chain and cash from him near the Vishvakarma Chowk. Vicky said he was on a motorcyle and was headed for Jagraon bridge.

Sources said after snatching the gold chain and cash from Vicky, the people in the car tried to drag Vicky into the vehicle but he raised an alarm. Some passersby gathered and the snatchers fled leaving behind the car. Police took the car in their possession and have started investigating the matter.

In another incident on Friday morning, a youth, Pintu Singh, who works with a florist, claimed that two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a Rs 11,000 from him. He said he was going to deposit the money in a bank near Fountain Chowk. The incident occured near Guru Nanak Stadium, said Pintu. The money belonged to Pintu Singh’s master.
