New Delhi, January 6 At least 20 people were injured, one of them seriously, when a mini-bus turned turtle in Outer Delhi’s Kanjhawla area on Sunday morning.

Police said the incident took place in Jonti village at 10 am.

According to police officials, the mini-bus running between Madhuban Chowk and Kutubgarh was speeding.

“Some passengers asked the driver to drive slow but he did not pay any heed. At Jonti, the bus overturned while negotiating a turn,” a senior police officer said. Officers said driver Prem Kumar sustained injuries but he fled the spot along with the conductor of the bus.

“A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against Pawan Kumar and the mini-bus has been impounded,” a police officer said.

The police said the injured were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri where the condition of four-year-old Bobby Kumar is said to be critical.

Kumar suffered severe head injuries, in addition to multiple fractures in his hands and legs. The condition of other injured persons is said to be stable. The police said their injuries are of minor nature.
