Shillong, March 13: The BDR has alleged that 21 anti-Bangladeshi camps are operating in Indian territory.

"Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) has given us a list of 21 rebel camps of groups like 'Swadhin Bangabhumi' and 'Bangladesh Liberation Organization' besides names of some 9 insurgent leaders, who they claimed, were operating from India. But some of the locations of rebel camps listed by BDR are actually addresses of BSF posts," BSF Inspector General P K Mishra told a press conference in Shillong on Thursday.

He was speaking after the conclusion of the four-day Deputy Director General-level conference between both the forces.

"We have told BDR to verify the list. If there are any such camps, we will surely raid them. But their list is not location-specific nor verified. How can they brand the BSF camps as insurgent camps ?" Mishra said.

BSF has handed over a list of 141 camps of groups like ULFA in Bangladesh and sought BDR's help to dismantle them.

"We have given evidence based on revelations of surrendered rebels that Indian militants were sheltering in Bangladesh. We made it clear that BDR has to act," he said.

There was no 'good reply' to BSF from BDR, which was 'quiet' when pointed the evidences. "BSF made it clear that it wanted a positive response from BDR on the insurgency issue during the DG-level conference slated for April 7," he said.

Along with the list of camps, the BSF also gave a list of 116 militant leaders, including ULFA chief Paresh Barua and its 198 sympathizers operating from Bangladesh soil.
