Mumbai, January 7 A 22-year-old was arrested in Dahisar on Monday for illegal possession of revolver and bullets.

The arrested accused, Surendra alias Suddha Mahavir Khangwal, a resident of Shantinagar Jhopadpatti, Dahisar (East), worked as mean labourer at construction sites around the locality.

According to Sub-Inspector R More of the Dahisar Police station, Surendra, a migrant from Haryana was involved in a family fight in Haryana. “His family was in a dispute with some neighbouring boys over the rape of a relative. In an armed fight in Surendra’s village, the boys killed his cousin brother.” More said that to avenge his brother's death, Surendra had acquired a country-made iron gun and three live bullets from a truck driver. “He was planning to return home with his booty and fight the killers,” More added. Working on a tip off, the police arrested Surendra near the Sidewalk restaurant at 1.30 pm on the Western Express Highway and seized the revolver and bullets.
