Vadodara, March 2 In yet another incident of rape in the state, a 23-year-old married woman was raped by her brother-in-law in Dolar village of Rajpipla taluka in Narmada district.

According to the Rajpipla police, the incident occurred on Friday and an FIR was lodged on Saturday. The accused, Manoj Vasava (30), was arrested the same day, after which he confessed to the crime.

Investigation Officer TK Patel said, “The incident occurred when the victim's husband Mukesh Vasava, who is a labourer, was not at home.”

According to the victim's testimony, she was doing her daily chores and her six-month-old baby was asleep when Manoj, a father of two, visited the house.

He used to visit the woman's residence frequently and had been eyeing her, said the police.

The medical report of the accused is yet to come, said Patel. “The victim is class-XII pass and got married just a few years ago,” he added.
