250 children attend SAI trials

Ludhiana, February 5 As many as 250 budding sportspersons participated on the first day of the trials conducted by Sports Authority India, at the Multipurpose Sports Complex here today, for the SAI Training Centre.

The participants from Jammu, Rajasthan, and Haryana and Chandigarh participated in the trials. Most of the participants are national medalist in their respective event/games.

The trials will continue up to February 7. Harbans Singh, incharge, SAI Training Centre, said that the first day saw an overwhelming response of the participants.

The experts panel of the selection committee of Regional Northern Centre of SAI have been engaged to select the potential of capable athletes in their respective discipline. On the first day after the registration of the athletes, the motor ability tests, viz. speed, strength endurance flexibility and agility were conducted. Harbans Singh, incharge of the SAI Training Centre, said that the selected players will have to be appear for medical examination tomorrow.
