Gurgaon A 25-year-old man was found shot dead in his Badshahpur home in Gurgaon on Thursday morning.

The deceased, Raj Kumar, was alone in his bedroom when his family heard a gunshot. When they rushed to the room, they found him lying in a pool of blood. The police said the incident was reported around 9 am.

“We found the weapon used lying in the same room and postmortem confirms that Raj Kumar died due to a gunshot fired from a close range,” the police said.

Kumar ran a flour mill in the neighbourhood market and had married recently. His wife is pregnant, the police said.

Though it appears to be a case of suicide as per the investigating officer, a case of murder has been registered against unknown assailants at the Badshahpur police station. “His father has alleged that it is a case of murder and hence investigations are on,” a police officer said. Kumar’s family has, however, not named anyone but said there was no reason for him to commit suicide.
