The chief of terror outfit Lashakar-e-Taiba, Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, is neither in hiding nor in jail.
“God has promised to make Muslims a superpower if we follow the right path,” Saeed told his followers.
“Our rulers are the slave of America and have sold their conscience for a few dollars,” ‘The Times’ quoted the founder of LeT, as saying.
Meanwhile, US Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer has backed Indian calls this week for Pakistan to bring Saeed and six other Mumbai terror suspects to justice.
“We need to see actions and results from Pakistan,” he said after India handed Pakistan a seventh dossier of evidence on the Mumbai terror attacks.
The real problem lies with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency, which backed Saeed when he founded LeT in 1990 to fight India in Jammu and Kashmir, according to analysts.
Under pressure from the US, Pakistan banned the group in 2002, but it continued to operate under the banner of Jamaat-ud Dawa, which Saeed also founded and calls a charity organisation.
A UN Security Council resolution last December declared Jamaat-ud Dawa a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba, forcing Pakistan to freeze its assets and jail many of its activists.
Saeed was put under house detention, but released after a few months when a court ruled that action against him and his group was illegal.

Pakistan is a free democratic civilised society unlike India. Hence India can not understand that people are free to express their opinions in Pakistan, and do not need to fear jail and torture for expression of their desires and aspirations, unlike medieval India where rule of fear and terror exists. India needs to learn from the progress of Pakistan and China under their free democratic systems of governance and try to change from medievalism and start living like open minded tolerant and inclusive society, rather than like stone age cavemen hiding in dark caves. It is necessary for China to tell India how to behave and develop a peaceful South Asia region, and as a part of that duty such comments are necessary from Chinese to educate the Indians.

When you say that China has a free democratic system of governance, you confirm my assessment of you. There is no doubt that Pakistan is free and no one need have any fears - terrorists can roam free, a renowned scoundrel can be President, the corrupt can give Islam a bad name in a theocratic country and drug money can be used freely even by the "disciplined" army. Pakistan is truly free and India certainly cannot match that freedom !!!

I dont think Pakistan has got it right since 1947. India has not cheated anyone but Muslims have in creating a Muslim nation out of Hindu lands. Hindus lived under Muslim oppression since 712 AD till present day. Lahore was a Hindu-Sikh Majority and still India has submitted to the White Englishman who drew those lines. Why are people getting cranky about this. It has always been known that the Pakistan is the hub of terorism. Yet rest of the world has done very little about it. There was chance to fix this during east and west paki war. there was chance after Mumbai bombing but nothing happened. Really. I always thought Pakistan and their sleazeball spokesman on Indian Media were honest and sincere over their desire to tackle the 26/11 terror attacks.
