Panchkula The body of a 26-year-old resident of Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 5, was discovered from the bathroom of her house late on Thursday evening.

Deceased Preeti Verma was a teacher at Jinendra Public School, Old Panchkula, and was reportedly under depression since the past few days.

“My sister was under depression due to some problem in her professional life since the past several days. Two days ago, she also suffered a fit while on her way back from school after which she could not talk or stand properly. It was on last evening when she suddenly turned violent and in the process, injured our mother who was helping her eat,” Preeti’s elder sister Jyoti said.

She added that Preeti had locked herself in the bathroom late on Thursday evening and did not open the door despite several knocks after which they broke the door, only to find her dead.

Preeti’s parents had also been planning her marriage. “It was after the body was found in the bathroom that we reached the place to investigate the matter. While investigations are still on, the body was handed over to the family after a post mortem today,” a police officer said.
