3 BRD edge out CISF in final

Chandigarh Buoyed by their forwards, 3 BRD Air Force scored an emphatic 6-1 win in the final over Central Industrial Security Force to claim the Chandigarh State Hockey Championship played at Sector 18 Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

BS Brar opened the account for 3 BRD Air Force as he scored a field goal in the 14th minute of the match. Varinder Kumar extended the lead for the winning team by scoring a field goal in the 40th minute of the match before Cyril Ekka scored the first and only goal for Central Industrial Security Force in the 43rd minute of the match.

Balbir Singh increased the leeway for 3 BRD Air Force in the 53rd minute of the match as 3 BRD Air Force took a 3-1 lead. S Alam extended the lead for the winning team as he scored a field goal in the 62nd minute of the match. 3 BRD Air Force forwards showed their complete dominance in the second half of the match and took the match completely away from Central Industrial Security Force.

Sanjay Singh extended CISF's lead further when he scored the fifth goal for his team in the 66th minute before Parminder Singh scored the sixth and final goal for the winning team to set up the title win.
