Ludhiana TRAGEDY : Speeding school van rams into a Scorpio on Ludhiana-Mullanpur Road

Three people lost their lives while three others were injured when a speeding school van rammed into a Scorpio car near village Gauhaur on the Ludhiana Mullanpur Road this morning. Luckily, there were no schoolchildren in the private van.

The deceased have been identified as Gurmail Singh, Jagtar Singh and Jagmail Singh, all residents of Moga while the injured have been identified as van driver Jaspal Singh, cleaner Ashwani along with surviving taxi occupant Amandeep Singh. The police are yet to record the statement of the driver of the school van who is said to be “under shock”.

Dr Amanpreet of Mediciti said that Jaspal Singh and Amandeep Singh have sustained injuries and are out of danger.

However, Ashwani had to be referred to the DMC Hospital, he said adding that the injured were brought to the hospital around 8 am. 

According to the Dakha police, the deceased were on their way to Karnal from Moga to buy paddy seeds.

The police have registered a case under sections 279, 337, 338, 427 and 304A of the IPC.
