New Delhi, February 7 Three teenaged girls have been missing from Farsh Bazaar area of east Delhi since January 31. While the families say they have been abducted, police believe the two friends have gone somewhere on their own.

The families of Riya and Medha (name changed) filed a complaint with the Farsh Bazaar police after they did not return home from school on January 31. During investigation, the police found out that the two 16-year-olds did not go to school either that day.

They are students of Class X in Ratna Devi School. They reside in Bholanath Nagar with their families. Riya’s father reportedly works outside India while Medha’s father works in a private firm here.

Meanwhile, the police have also received information that one more girl went missing from Farsh Bazaar area.

She is a resident of Gajju Katra in Shahdara. The parents have alleged that she was kidnapped from Farsh Bazaar area when she had gone there for some personal work.

None of the three families has received any ransom call. The police said that they could also have been kidnapped by human traffickers. Police registered two FIRs in both the incidents three days ago and are investigating the cases.

“We have detained one person and are questioning him. Something concrete will come up very soon,” said a senior police officer.
