3 minors among four held for snatching

Chandigarh Four snatchers, including three minors, have been arrested by the Chandigarh Police in two different cases in the last 24 hours. The minors have been sent to a juvenile home. 

According to Station House Officer of the Sector-26 police station, Inspector Ragbir Singh, a person escaped after snatching the purse of a woman on Wednesday in Sector 27. Following a tip-off, the police identified the snatcher as Vijay Kumar (22) and later arrested him. 

In another case, the police control room received a call that three persons had snatched the mobile phone of cyclist Yam Prasad from near the gurdwara in Sector 7. Meanwhile, someone informed the police that he had seen three persons going towards Sector 26, following which, the patrolling party of the Sector-26 police station was alerted about the possible movement of snatchers in the area.

The snatchers were intercepted at the traffic lightpoint of Sector 27 and 28.
