3 more policemen get showcause notices

Kolkata, January 7 The police sent showcause notices to three more police officers on Monday for “gross negligence of duty”.“Officer-in-charge of Tollygunj police station Shantipada Roy, Sergeant Goutam Roy and File Monitor Abdul Majid Bapari have been served with showcause notices. They will have to provide a clarification within 72 hours,” said Additional Commissioner IV, Kuldip Singh. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Bimal Shah, has filed a preliminary report on basis of which action has been initiated, Singh said. On Sunday, Special Guard of Tollygunge police station Sunil Kumar Majhi was suspended after it came to light that his service revolver was stolen by the killer, Amaresh Kundu.
