390 homeless in Muktsar get houses

Muktsar Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today inaugurated three colonies for the homeless at a cost of Rs 4 crore in Panjawa, Sikhanwala and Tarnamala villages of Lambi Assembly constituency and handed over the keys of 390 houses to the beneficiaries. Badal announced that small parks, community centres and schools for children would also be established to provide basic amenities, said a press release.

Later, Badal disbursed cheques of Rs 1.36 crore amongst 381 beneficiaries for the construction of their houses and 375 beneficiaries for repair of their houses.

Change must at Centre: Sukhbir

: Stressing that “change is a must” at the Centre, SAD (B) chief and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Friday that the recent “anti-people” decisions of the UPA government suggested that the Congress was not serious in giving a fight in the parliamentary polls. Addressing a press conference, Sukhbir alleged that the Union government had also failed to tackle the financial crisis. As many as 106 members of various political parties joined SAD in presence of Sukhbir Badal in Bathinda.
